11 Feared Dead, Several Others Injured At Catholic Church’s Palliative in Abuja

Few days after about 35 children were killed during a stampede at Xmas carnival programme in Ibadan, another stampede has led to the death of 11 people in Abuja.
This medium learnt that the incident occurred early Saturday, 21 December, in Maitama, Abuja.
The Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, Abuja, had put in place food palliative distribution programme.
The influx of people at the programme led to a stampede which had reportedly led to the death of 11 people while several others are injured.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 8am.
The injured people have been taken to Maitama District Hospital while the corpses have been deposited at the morgue.
The Commissioner of Police for Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Olatunji Disu has been on ground since the news of the incident broke out.
He has visited the scene of the incident as well as the injured people in the hospital.
