Disappeared Without A Trace: Delta Ex-Lawmaker Remains Missing After Six Days

Six days after her abduction at a church in Asaba, Delta State, the location of former Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency Representative, Joan Mrakpor’s remains unknown.
Mrakpor, who served as the immediate past Commissioner for Technical Education in the state, was seized last Tuesday at a church off Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) in Asaba. During the incident, two individuals, including her police orderly, were shot dead.
Reports indicate that Mrakpor was taken to a waiting speed boat on the bank of the River Niger and then whisked away by her abductors to an undisclosed location. The gunmen had arrived at the riverbank in a vehicle, which they set ablaze before transferring Mrakpor to the speed boat.
Yesterday, Police Public Relations Officer Mr. Bright Edafe confirmed that the police are still actively pursuing the kidnappers.
