Eguavoen says Osimhen will be missed… says Eagles ready for Libya

Interim Coach of the Super Eagles, Austin Eguavoen, has admitted that the senior national football team will miss the services of injured forward, Victor Osimhen in the African Nations Cup qualifying back-to-back matches against Libya.
Eguavoen however added that the rest players in the Super Eagles would be solid enough to get the results against Libya on Friday in Uyo and on October 15 in Tripoli.
Speaking ahead of the two games on Tuesday, Eguavoen said; “Football is a collective effort and team sport. We are in touch with him and we believe he is with us in spirit. He is a huge miss because we know what he brings in for us, how important and impactful Osimhen can be.
“I am happy we have players who can step into his shoes to give us the results.
“The former international said the Eagles are very focused for the two games against Libya.
“Every game is important and this is no exception. We are working hard to ensure we put the game to bed as fast a s possible and it means every second counts. We are going to fight for the three points in the game in front of us in Uyo and still do the same in the away game.
“We know what it means to get the job done as quickly and fast as possible and we will do just that,” the Eagles coach added.
Some of the players already in the camp as at Tuesday afternoon in Uyo are Stanley Nwabali, Amas Obasogie, Frank Onyeka, Victor Boniface, Samuel Chukwueze and Rafael Onyedika.
