First Lady Sen. Oluremi Tinubu Honoured with Chieftaincy Title in Enugu

Nigeriaโs First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was conferred with the esteemed chieftaincy title of Ugosimba 1 of Enugu (Jewel of Women Empowerment) during a ceremony in Enugu today.
The honour recognises her sustained efforts in promoting womenโs empowerment and fostering community development across the country.
Taking to her official Facebook page following the event, the First Lady expressed gratitude for the recognition:
“Today, in Enugu, I was honored to receive the esteemed chieftaincy title of Ugosimba 1 of Enugu, Jewel of Women Empowerment. This distinction is a testament to the impactful work done in empowering women and uplifting communities, and I am deeply grateful to the people of Enugu for this recognition and the trust they’ve placed in me.”
Senator Tinubu, a former three-term senator representing Lagos Central and a long-standing advocate for womenโs rights, has championed numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the social and economic status of Nigerian women.
Since assuming the role of First Lady in May 2023, she has further expanded her outreach through the Renewed Hope Initiative, which focuses on education, entrepreneurship, and healthcare for women and children.
The chieftaincy ceremony, held in Enuguโs traditional council chambers, was attended by prominent dignitaries, community leaders, and womenโs groups who lauded the First Ladyโs commitment to inclusive development.
Her recognition comes at a time when women’s participation in leadership and economic activities remains a crucial agenda for national growth.
Through various advocacy platforms, Senator Tinubu continues to inspire a new generation of Nigerian women to engage in governance, entrepreneurship, and community service.
