Iwobi assures Super Eagles fans of victory in return leg against Guinea Bissau

After Nigeria suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) qualifying match played at the Moshood Abiola National on Friday, March 24th, Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi, has assured his fans of a positive result in the return leg.
The 29th-minute goal, scored by
Mama Balde was what secured Guinea Bissauโs Wild Dogs victory to become the top of their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification table with seven points in Group A.
Everton star Iwobi expressed optimism that the players will give a good account of themselves and Eagles will ensure they win the match.
โNext game, weโre going to do our best to get the result and make the country proud,โ Iwobi said.
โLike what the coach said, we created many chances and had opportunities to score in the first leg, but itโs one of those games that we did not score.
โAm sure if we play them again luck could be on our side.
โFirst and foremost, as players and staff, we know weโve got to react to this result, we are going to look at the game and see what we need to do to improve.
โWe want the fans to stick by us and support us because we give 100% not just for ourselves but also for our nation.
โWe know weโre privileged to wear the shirt, there are a lot of people who want to be in this position.โ
Nigeria with six points will be aiming for a win in order to reclaim the lead in Group A when they travel to Bissau in the return fixture on Monday, March 27th.
