‘Seven Doors’ Shines Bright at 11th AMVCA Awards

It was a night of glitz, celebration, and well-deserved recognition at the 11th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), held at the prestigious Eko Hotels in Lagos.
Taking center stage was “Seven Doors”, a captivating historical drama created by Femi Adebayo.
The series swept three top awards, cementing its status as a standout Nollywood production.
Adebayo himself won Best Lead Actor for his role as King Adedunjoye, while Chioma Chukwuka was awarded Best Lead Actress for her moving portrayal of Queen Amaka, his on-screen wife.
The series also earned accolades for Best Music/Score, completing its powerful presence at the event.
Beyond the stars of “Seven Doors”, the evening honored many of Africa’s finest talents in film and television.
Sani Mu’azu and Nkem Owoh were celebrated with Lifetime Achievement Awards, a tribute to their enduring legacy in the industry.
Rising talent Kayode Kasum received the Trailblazer Award for his bold, innovative contributions to filmmaking.
Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and Channels (West Africa) at MultiChoice, spoke passionately about AMVCA’s evolving role in nurturing the African entertainment landscape.
“We are deeply committed to growing Nollywood. Each year, the AMVCA adapts to highlight new talent and bring local stories to the world,” she said.
She revealed that over ₦9 billion has been invested in the awards since its inception, with initiatives like the MultiChoice Talent Factory offering year-long training to young filmmakers across the continent.
