Anxiety Over Health of APC Chairmanship Candidate For Agege; How Obasa allegedly deceived Tinubu

There is growing anxiety over the health of the recently announced All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate for Agege Local Government, Alhaji Tunde Azeez popularly called Tunde Disco.

This is just as it has been discovered how the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt Honourable Mudashiru Obasa has deceived President Bola Tinubu on his son’s candidature in the coming council elections in the state.

Prior to the conduct of the primary elections by the party to pick its candidates for the election, there were meetings and decisions taken to pick the candidates via consensus.

This medium learnt that while Obasa put out the name of his son for Agege, President Tinubu allegedly struck it out.

“This will not fly,” he was alleged to have said.He however gave the Speaker the privilege of presenting another aspirant and gave Honourable Yinka Ogundimu, whom he denied the opportunity to return to the House, the Chairmanship ticket for Orile Agege LCDA.

Obasa disobeyed the two orders by the President. In the first instance, he raised another aspirant against Ogundimu lying that he is not living in Agege.

Secondly, Obasa, hell bent on having his son becoming the Chairman of the local, put forward the name of Tunde Azeez, until that time the Chairman of APC in Agege as the candidate.Tunde Azeez was seriously sick.

He was so sick that he had to be aided by the Chairmen of Agege LG, Kola Egunjobi; and his Orile Agege LCDA counterpart, Johnson Sunday Babatunde; to fill his nomination form. This was against the fact that there were more physically fit aspirants in Obasa’s camp. One of them is the current Vice Chairman, Olugbenga Abiola, who many had thought will replace Egunjobi.

Many wondered why Obasa will go for someone who is not healthy and academically sound enough for the office.

When APC released the names of the Vice Chairmanship candidates of the party this week, many now see through the deception of Obasa and how he is trying to deceive President Tinubu.His son’s name was listed as the Vice Chairmanship candidate for Agege.

Investigation revealed that Obasa is planning to have his son become the council Chairman through a decoy.

It was learnt that Tunde Azeez will eventually resign from his position on health ground paving the way for Ganiyu Obasa to become the substantive Chairman.

In Agege, anxiety is growing over the health of Tunde Azeez.”Since he was railroaded into signing the nomination form at ACME road secretariat of APC, Tunde Disco has not been seen in public,” Remi Olayori, a budding politician in Agege told this medium.There are reports that the man is being taken from one healing home to the other.”When the Obasa Stakeholders hold their press conference this week, Disco was nowhere to be found,” another politician, Usman Abdullah told our correspondent.

Most of those who spoke to our correspondent expressed dismay at the way Obasa blatantly disobeyed the order of Tinubu and decided to install his son through the backdoor.

“President Tinubu should pause and take a look at how Obasa is denigrating his legacies through arrogant impunity,” a youth, Bolarinwa Ademoyo said.
