The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspected vehicle thief, Chidi Nwoye, and recovered several stolen vehicles and other exhibits in the Obosi community near Onitsha.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga, spokesperson of the Command, disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen on Monday in Awka.

Ikenga said operatives attached to the Isiowulu Police Division, working with local vigilante operatives, apprehended the suspect on August 22.
According to him, items recovered from the suspect included: one Hyundai Tucson vehicle with registration number PH 725 AAA, one tricycle with registration number NSH 051 UD, eight assorted mobile phones, one black faze cap bearing “AVG Special Force,” one battle axe and one driver’s license.

Also recovered were two bunches of keys, four master keys, two Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, one Permanent Voter Card (PVC), a vehicle tracking device, and a sensor, among other items.
Ikenga explained that the suspect was intercepted on Minaj Road in Obosi community while operating with a stolen tricycle.
He added that, upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to using master keys to steal vehicles and tricycles from where they were parked.
“The operatives have extended investigations to the suspect’s den and that of his accomplices for possible recovery of additional stolen exhibits,” he said.
The Command spokesperson urged members of the public, especially those whose items were recently stolen as listed, to visit Isiowulu Police Station for possible identification and recovery.
He further noted that the suspect would be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
