Senator Ayo Akinyelure, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial candidate for Ondo Central, has called on his supporters and party members to remain calm, steadfast and focused on their mobilisation efforts following the recent Federal High Court judgment concerning the leadership of the party.

Akinyelure, in a statement issued by his Media Team, said the judgment delivered on Thursday by Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, should not be allowed to derail the collective determination of party members and supporters working towards the ADC’s success in the January 16, 2027 National Assembly election.

He expressed confidence that the party’s national leadership, working closely with its legal team, was addressing the development and would pursue the necessary legal steps, including an appeal, to resolve the matter through the appropriate judicial process. The distinguished senator urged his supporters in Ondo Central not to be distracted by the legal development, stressing that their immediate responsibility remained strengthening the party’s grassroots structure, reaching more voters and sustaining the door-to-door mobilisation campaign across the six local government areas of the senatorial district.

He said the confidence and enthusiasm of the people of Ondo Central in his candidacy were rooted in his record of service and the tangible contributions he made to the constituency during his previous tenures in the Senate.According to him, the overwhelming goodwill he continues to enjoy among constituents is a strong indication of their readiness to give him another opportunity to represent them at the National Assembly.

Akinyelure maintained that his aspiration was driven by a commitment to consolidate on his previous achievements, provide purposeful representation and advance the interests of the people, rather than be distracted by political uncertainties. The statement added that the senator’s confidence in winning the January 16 election remained unshaken and urged supporters to translate their enthusiasm into sustained political engagement and voter mobilisation.
