Ayra Starr confident of winning Grammy, says her acceptance speech ready

Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr, who is nominated for a Grammy, for her hit song ‘Rush’ has hinted that she has her speech ready for when she wins the award.
She secured a nomination in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category at the 66th Grammys.
The artist who is signed to Mavin Records recently disclosed in an interview with Cool FM Nigeria that she has not only prepared her acceptance speech but also envisioned her walk and outfit for the ceremony.
The excitement in Ayra Starr’s voice was infectious as she expressed her readiness to claim the award despite facing stiff competition in the new African category. “I have my Grammys speech ready. It is quite long because it is the first African category. I already know my walk, my outfit,” she shared confidently.
When asked about her plans for the moment after potentially winning the Grammy, Ayra Starr revealed her desire to celebrate with a visit to a Chinese restaurant and a video call to her mother.
The 66th Grammy Awards, scheduled for Sunday, February 4th, 2024, in Los Angeles, will see Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ competing against notable tracks, including Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake and Olamide’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Tyla’s ‘Water’ for the maiden Best African Music Performance accolade.
