The Showtime Youths Cup has reached a crucial stage, with the Round of 16 set to deliver intense battles as teams fight for a place in the quarter-finals.

The knockout competition, which began with 50 teams, has now been narrowed to 16, making every match a do-or-die encounter. Action resumes on Saturday, March 29, 2025, with Accurate taking on Sam City, while Middlewell faces Anthony in what promises to be a thrilling contest.

The following day, B-Unit FC will battle Blue Point, while JS Sport goes head-to-head with Emiloju.

The excitement continues the next weekend, as Chekas clashes with Varsity on Saturday, April 5, before God’s Glory takes on R2 Finesse.

The final set of Round of 16 fixtures will take place on Sunday, April 12, when Paslaw FC squares off against Shuffle, followed by Bariga FC’s highly anticipated encounter with Oskey.

Beyond the fierce competition, the tournament has attracted international attention, with scouts from top football clubs already in Lagos and more expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

Unlike many local competitions, all matches are being recorded and sent to global scouting networks, ensuring that young talents are noticed even beyond match day. This unprecedented exposure has made the Showtime Youths Cup a major opportunity for aspiring footballers seeking a professional breakthrough.

Adding to the motivation is the tournament’s significant financial rewards. The champions will receive ₦11.5 million, while the runners-up will walk away with ₦6 million.

Individual excellence is also being recognized, as the top scorer, best player, and best goalkeeper will each earn ₦1.5 million in prize money.

With every team aware that a single mistake could end their journey, the level of intensity on the pitch is unmatched.

As the tournament moves closer to its grand finale, the Showtime Youths Cup continues to prove why it is one of the most prestigious youth competitions in Nigeria, offering both recognition and life-changing opportunities for young footballers.
