NBBF/Zenith Bank National Women’s Basketball League: Phase 2 ends today in Enugu, Abuja

…As teams seek final qualification
The Phase 2 of the 2024 NBBF/Zenith Bank National Women’s Basketball League will come to an end on Saturday across the two conferences with the top eight teams expected to converge in Lagos from October 13 for the National finals at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere.
After winning all their matches during the Phase 1, played in both Lafia, Nasarawa State, and Akure Ondo State, Customs Women Basketball team and First Bank Women Basketball team both continued from where they stopped at the Abuja and Enugu centre albeit Customs losing one game during the Phase 2.
Defending champions, MFM Women Basketball team on the other hand repeated their performance of last year, after losing three of their games during the Phase 1, the Lagos-based side turned things around, beating every opponent on their way to the last day.
The final day will see Nigeria Army take on Nasarawa Amazons with Titans facingoff against Air Warriors. Plateau Rocks will file out against Kada Angels while Customs battle Royal Aces with the hope of making the final eight with the likes of Customs and Air Warriors already assured of a place in Lagos from the Savannah conference.
The Atlantic Conference final day games will see First Bank playing against Bayelsa Whales, Dolphins against Sunshine Angels. Delta Force and First Deep Waters with the final game of the day taking place between the defending champions, MFM and IGP Queens.
