11 stowaways apprehended by Navy on Ghana-bound ship

On Thursday, the Nigerian Navy Ship, Beecroft, successfully intercepted and paraded 11 stowaways apprehended onboard a Guangzhou Highway Panama vessel heading to Ghana.
In hopes that the vessel was on its way to Europe, the stowaways decided to follow it out of the country in search of greener pastures.
Lieutenant Commander Ayobami Tunde-Alli, standing in for the Commander of NNS Beecroft, Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga, while speaking to journalists said the stowaways were arrested by the NNS Beecroft patrol team on Tuesday around 7 pm.
Handing them over to the Nigerian Immigration Service in Apapa on Thursday, Tunde-Alli said, โIn a display of exceptional vigilance, the Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft patrol team, while on routine patrol, successfully intercepted and apprehended some individuals on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, around 7 pm at obscured spaces of the stern gate onboard Guangzhou Highway Panama, which was en route Ghana.
โAccordingly, Western Regional Control Centre was immediately informed and prompted the vessel to halt within Lagos anchorage.
โInitially, four stowaways were apprehended from the stern of the vessel. However, information provided by these individuals revealed the presence of additional stowaways inside the ship.โ
โThe apprehended individuals are identified as: Shedrack David, 19 years from Ondo State;. Emmanuel Godbless ,30 years from Delta State; Ibrahim Hassan, 30 years from Adamawa State; Solomon Francis, 21 years from Ondo State; Bolaji Johnson ,28 years from Ondo State; Samsom Aimy, 37 years, from Bayelsa State; Ayefuwei Collins, 27 years from Delta State; Ayo Gula, 28 years, from Delta State; Jolomi Daniel, 23 years, from Ondo State; Abubakar Ibrahim, 19 years, from Zamfara State, and Precious Uwalogho, 30 years, from Delta State.โ
