PDP:G-5 governors threaten to strike back if pushed

Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Governor, has said that attacks on the G-5 Governors will attract the wrath of the Integrity Group as they will not hold back.
He made the call while addressing the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP),Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Wike asked the presidential candidate to rein in members of the presidential campaign council(PCC) of the party and stop them from attacking the group of governors.
Wike handed down the warning on December 5th, at the flag-off of the Indorama-Agbonchia-Ogale-Ebubu-East/West Link Road in Eleme Council of the State, which was performed by former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.
Recall that G-5 governors which includes Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, had been receiving attacks following their stance for “equity, justice and fairness” in the party as they insisted on the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, to pave the way for a southerner so as to maintain balance in the party.
Wike stated that the G5 governors are lovers of peace who believe that all party members should embrace peace and work together to secure electoral victory for the party in the 2023 election.
He said: “Now, what I want to tell the presidential candidate of PDP is we need peace. We want all of us to be together for the party to win the election. But let me say clearly, if your boys continue to attack the G-5 (governors), and continue to attack the leaders of our party, we will strike back. If anybody again dares, in the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, to insult the PDP Governors G-5, insult our leaders of Integrity Group, we’ll fight back. Enough is enough.”
The governor also said it is ludicrous for persons who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and abandoned the PDP at its trying moment, to dictate to him and his associates what to do in the party.
He added: “We want peace. All we want is equity, fairness and justice. Nobody should take us for granted. I cannot understand, people, who just left APC two weeks ago, are talking about the PDP that we stayed and suffered to build. Even if anybody will talk about us, not these miscreants.”
