Nollywood actress, Adunni Ade said that she finds speaking Yoruba language draining.
The actress made this known on a recent episode of the Channels Television program, Morning Brief, where she was a guest.
Adunni Ade, born to a German-American mother and a Nigerian father of Yoruba descent, said she prefers English which is Nigeria’s lingua franca, stressing that all the other languages should be put aside.
She said, “Speaking Yoruba is draining, sometimes it hurts my nerves. The first language that we know in Nigeria is English. Let’s put all the other languages aside.”
She, however, expressed gratitude to her father for bringing her to Nigeria to learn the Nigerian culture.
