AFN Election: I didn’t step down for anybody, says Coach Aliyu

The president of the Athletics Coaches Association of Nigeria, Solomon Aliyu, has called on his followers to disregard any rumour claiming that he has stepped down for another individual in the running for the Coachesโ Representative on the Board of the Athletic Federation of Nigeria.
According to the ex-international, he has not been in discussion with an individual or group of people as regards his ambition and he is not ready to step down for anybody.
โSome people came to me that they are already hearing that I have decided to step down for another person in the running for the coachesโ representative on the incoming board, such rumour is far from the truth,โ he said.
โI have not consulted with anyone or a group of people and I will advice whoever thinking of approaching me should jettison such ideas because I am not ready to drop my ambition.
โAfter seeing the fact that our coaches doesn’t have so much say in the outgoing board, we need to reposition ourselves and that’s the reason why I am going in there.
โI have been the president of the TACFAN for a while now and I can beat my chest to what we have been able to achieve as a body, so getting into the board will surely allow us to build on the achievement recorded so far.โ
