NNPP’s Abba Kabir Yusuf wins Kano Governorship election

Abba Kabir Yusuf, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has been declared the winner of the Kano state governorship election.
He polled 1,019,602 to emerge as the winner.
APC’s candidate had 890,705 votes, while the PDP could only muster 15,957 votes and the Labour Party had 5,409 votes.
Meanwhile, the Kano state government has imposed a dawn-to-dusk curfew with a view to avoiding a breakdown of law and order following tensions generated from the ongoing collation of results of the governorship and state Assembly elections.
The state commissioner for information and internal affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, made the announcement in a statement issued at the wake of Monday morning.
He said the decision was to prevent hoodlums from causing chaos in the already tensed situation.
