Africa’s leading online gaming platform, betPawa, has marked a major milestone in the continent’s iGaming industry with a record-setting ₦1.6 billion payout in a single round of Aviator.

The win, equivalent to USD 1.1 million, is the largest group payout ever recorded on the Aviator game in Africa, as confirmed by Spribe, the game’s developers.

The landmark payout was shared by a group of winners from Cameroon, Ghana, and Zambia, with each placing small-stake bets and securing extraordinary multipliers. Among the standout winners is Clovis, a player from Cameroon who placed two separate bets of 150 FCFA and 100 FCFA (less than ₦200 combined) and walked away with 150 million FCFA (₦191 million), achieving multipliers of 500,000x and 750,000x.

Other notable winners include Prince from Kumasi, Ghana, who staked GH¢6.50 (₦800) and won GH¢2 million (₦238 million) with a 307,692x multiplier, and Sidney from Zambia, who turned a K6 (₦460) bet into K3.25 million (₦250 million) at a 500,000x multiplier. Several others from Cameroon, Uganda, and Malawi recorded similarly impressive wins on low-stake bets.

To honour its winners, betPawa hosted a celebration event in Accra, treating them to a luxury experience including business-class flights, private chauffeured transfers, premium hotel accommodation, custom gifts, and a private jet tour over Ghana.

According to Borah Ndanyungu, Head of Local Marketing and CSR at betPawa, the company remains committed to rewarding its users with not just financial wins but long-term value.

“We love big winners, and we’ve built our platform to make such wins possible. But more importantly, we want our players to win for life. That’s why we’re introducing financial empowerment initiatives in partnership with the Gaming Commission of Ghana and experienced financial advisors,” she said.

The financial empowerment program will offer guidance on smart investment decisions, savings, and responsible financial planning for winners, reinforcing the company’s focus on long-term impact.betPawa, known for offering the lowest minimum stakes and the highest maximum wins in Aviator across Africa (up to ₦400 million per round), continues to set the pace in Africa’s mobile betting space.

This event adds to its growing legacy, following the 2023 Aviator payout of $500,000 to Fuseini, a Ghanaian player, which remains the highest single payout to date.

As the continent’s iGaming sector evolves, betPawa’s recent record affirms its leadership position and its commitment to creating responsible, exciting, and life-changing experiences for its users.
