City of Houston declares July 7th World Davido Day
The City of Houston in the United States has designated July 7 as “Davido Day” to appreciate the achievement of Nigerian Afrobeat star, David Adeleke aka Davido.
Mayor Sylvester Turner of Houston officially declared the special day in a statement released from Houston, Texas, on Friday.
The proclamation reads, “I, Sylvester Turner, Mayor of the city of Houston, do hereby proclaim July 7, 2023, as Davido Day.”
The mayor said the honor bestowed upon Davido by the city of Houston highlights his significant contributions to the music industry, both in Nigeria and internationally.
