Kano says citizens can go about day to day activities, lifts dusk to dawn curfew
The Kano state government has announced that the dawn to dusk curfew imposed in the state with a view to avoid breakdown of law and order following tensions generated from the announcement of the results of the governorship and state Assembly elections has been lifted.
The State commissioner for information and internal affairs, Muhammad Garba, announced the lifting of the curfew in a statement issued to newsmen in Kano.
The New Nigeria Peoples Party(NNPP) candidate, Abba Yusuf, was declared the winner of the state election by the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC).
According to him, “the decision to lift the curfew was after careful review of the situation and the relative calm throughout the state.”
The commissioner used the opportunity to call on commercial banks, public servants and the people in the state to come out and continue with their normal businesses and day to day activities as there was now relative peace in the state.
