Police arraigns pastor over street naming contempt in Ogun
A pastor with the Living Truth Centre Church and Community Development Association (CDA), Chairman, Kuroloja Aderibigbe, has been arraigned before a magistrate court sitting in Ojodu Abiodun area of Ogun state.
Aderibigbe was arraigned on a matter involving felony, breach of public peace and attempt to provoke one Funmi Obaseki to a fight duel by placing a banner with the inscription of Johnson Street instead of Mo Funmi Obaseki Crescent as approved by Ifo Local Government Authority on the entrance of the street.
This, according to the police, contravened the criminal code, under section 84 and is punishable under the laws of Ogun State, Nigeria, 2006.
Recalled that the applicant, Funmi Obaseki, in a Suit No M/18/2024, obtained a judgment at the High Court of Ogun State, held in Ifo Judicial division, that the street should be named after Mo Funmi Obaseki Crescent, which hitherto nullified Johnson Street being erected by the defendants.

Hon Justice S T Bello in the judgement stated further that, “the 1st respondent has searched its records and there is no record of Johnson street in respect of the disputed ‘Mo Funmi Obaseki crescent’ in Ifo Local Government.
“The applicant having duly applied for and met the requirements of street naming, the 1st respondent approved the name ‘Mo Funmi Obaseki Crescent’.
“The 1st respondent will forthwith re-erect the signpost bearing ‘Mo Funmi Obaseki Crescent’, having done the needful.
“The applicant shall bear the cost of N75,000 of a new signpost that will be re-erected by the local government, which she has since complied with.
The defendant, Kuroloja Aderibigbe, was, however, granted bail of one hundred thousand naira, with our surety, just as the hearing adjourned till the 8th of July 2025.
