While on a working visit at the Alausa secretariat,Ikeja, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, revealed that he had concluded plans for upward review of the workers salaries.
He said that the increase in salary would be effective at the end of the month. He commended them for their support especially during the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
The governor approved 25 percent increases of core establishment duty allowance which would help the workers tackle the ongoing inflation in the country. The plan for 100 vehicles for Directors in the public service would also be implemented by the end of the month.
Head of Service, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, was in attendance along with other cabinet members who accompanied Sanwo-Olu. The governor also announced the plan to increase the staff bus fleet that brought the workers to work and back home.
These buses would ply routes that were not currently not covered by the available buses.
The head of service thanked the governor for fulfilling his promise to improve the working conditions of the workers, as well as increase their allowances and working environment.
As part of strategies to continually enhance effective service delivery within the Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and the ecosystem in Lagos State, the PPP Office has met with stakeholders on how to foster human capital development and boost a friendlier business environment within government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Special Adviser to the Governor on PPP, Mr. Ope George, while speaking at the workshop, said that the gathering provides an avenue for his office to activate a seamless skill transfer process for the participants.
“The Science of PPP Process, Policy, Legal and Institutional Frameworks, could not have been more pertinent than creating a holistic learning experience for everyone.
The science of PPP process, policy, legal and institutional frameworks, according to him, underscores the need to understand PPP philosophy, project negotiation dynamics, project initiation, evaluation, execution and dispute management mechanisms, among others,”he stated.
He hoped that the workshop would help the participants to be more intellectually grounded and to create a sustainable PPP in Lagos state.
