Argentina secures position in round of 16,2-0 victory over Mexico
Argentina secures their place in the next round of the World Cup games

Argentina secured its first victory and hopes to move to the next group in the Qatar 2022 World Cup in a 2-0 victory over Mexico.
Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernandez scored the goals that brought the win home on Saturday,November 26th, and brightened their hope of qualifying for the round of 16 at the ongoing World Cup.
After their unexpected loss to Saudi Arabia in a match that ended in a 1-2 victory for the Arabian side,Argentina needed to win the match to have any hope of qualifying as fans started to question Messi’s prowess and relevance to the World Cup.
Loosing the match to Argentina would have seen them thrown out of the tournament, at the first group stage.
After the first half passed with no fruitful results, that saw only two shots on goal, one from each side, Messi then went ahead to give Argentina it’s head start in the 64th minute.
Angel Di Maria passed the ball to Lionel Messi, who collected the ball and unleashed a terrific shot from the edge of the box. His effort went into the bottom right corner for a fabulous goal.
Fernandez scored the second goal, a sublime goal three minutes to duration to give Argentina 2-0.
Messi was at the heart of it as he played in Fernandez, who showed great determination to get to the ball before a couple of defenders and from inside the box he shot into the top of the net to further secure Argentina’s place in the World Cup.
