Canadian singer Grimes takes Elon Musk to court for children’s parental rights
…asks to see her children
Canadian singer, Claire Boucher, popularly known as Grimes, has sued billionaire Elon Musk because of the parental rights of their three children.
According to documents obtained by Page Six on Tuesday, Boucher filed a “petition to establish parental relationship” at a California court on September 29.
The petition is used to request a court declaration of children’s legal parentage, especially in cases when their father and mother are not married.
While the actual filing notice is made public, the documents’ contents are unknown as they are sealed.
The suit is coming weeks after Grimes made a public plea to the billionaire to allow her to see their third child, whom they both welcomed secretly.
In since-deleted tweets, Grimes replied to a post by the author of Musk’s biography, Walter Isaacson, which contained pictures of twin kids shared by Musk and Neuralink executive, Shivon Zilis.
“Tell Shivon to unblock me and tell Elon to let me see my son or plz respond to my lawyer. I have never even been allowed to see a photo of these children until this moment, despite the situation utterly ripping my family apart,” she wrote in the tweet.
Grimes and Musk were in an on-and-off relationship between 2018 and 2021. She gave birth to their first child, X, in 2020.
They secretly welcomed another child, Exa via surrogacy in 2021.
The “Elon Musk” biography published in September 2023, revealed that the singer and tech mogul secretly welcomed another son, Techno Mechanicus. His year of birth was not named in the biography.
