Lagos lawmaker passes on at APC’s rally in Jos to kick start campaign

A lawmaker representing the  Mushin Constituency II at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Sobur Olawale, slumped to death in Jos, Plateau State on Tuesday,November 15th. 

It was gathered that Olawale, popularly known as Omititi, was among the politicians, who stormed Jos to show their support for the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress(APC) presidential campaign.

It was reported that Olawale was returning from the flag-off ceremony when he suddenly slumped and died.

A source within the APC in the state confirmed that Olawale slumped during the APC rally in Plateau and was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed to.

The APC had held a campaign inauguration in Plateau for its presidential candidate and running mate, Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, respectively. 

The spokesperson for the APC in Lagos State, Seye Oladejo, in his reaction to the development, described Olawale’s death as a tragic loss to the state and nation at large. 

He said, “Sadly, we lost him and that is all I know. It happened in Jos; he was hale and hearty when we departed for Jos this morning on a chartered plane from Lagos. Unfortunately, we lost him in Jos, he did not make the trip back with us.”

President Muhammadu Buhari,  led over 22 governors on the platform of the APC and other dignitaries including the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; governors of Cross River, Ben Ayade; Kaduna, El-Rufai; Yobe, Mai Buni, Imo State, Hope Uzodimma; Plateau, Simon Lalong; Kogi, Yahaya Bello, among others  to the campaign rally which held at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, the state capital, where he handed over the APC flag to Tinubu
