Portable to spend weekend in police cell, charged to court on Monday

Zazoo singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by the police and will be charged to court after the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum given by the Police for the controversial singer to turn himself in.
The police had earlier asked the ‘Zazoo Zehh’ crooner to turn himself in following allegations of assault made against him. Following his arrest, the singer would now remain in police custody till Monday, April 3rd.
Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the singer’s arrest on Friday, March 31st, adding that he is now at the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Earlier in the week, two videos had gone viral where the artist was seen verbally assaulting and rough handling some police officers at his bar in Sango Ota, Ogun State. However, he claimed that in his defence, “for no reason”, an alleged Internet fraudster had brought the police officers to his bar to arrest him and his staff members.
According to Oyeyemi, Portable was invited to the police station following a petition by a young studio owner who claimed that Portable together with his aides beat him to stupor and locked his studio.
He added that despite all the summons that were sent to the singer, he did not honour any of them and this was the reason why he had to be brought in and detained.
