Stakeholders meeting postponed due to proposed labour strike
The Stakeholders Meeting earlier scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 3rd in Abuja has been postponed due to the proposed labour strike.
According to a statement from the media office of the Chairman House Committee on Sports Honourable Ekene Adams Abubakar, “This is to inform all Sports loving Nigerians that the planned Sports Stakeholders Meeting earlier scheduled to hold on Thursday, August 3rd, 2023 has been postponed.
”This decision, though painful, we are constrained to take this decision due to the planned strike which could affect people’s movements. We are sensitive and do not want to inconvenience people.
“We shall look at a more appropriate date very soon which will be convenient for everyone. We regret any inconveniences that this decision may have caused Nigerians.”
The statement further affirmed; ”The Chairman will continue to engage and consult with critical stakeholders towards ensuring that the event takes place soon. We appreciate the support, enthusiasm, and encouragement from well-meaning Nigerians. Be rest assured that we shall work together to change the narrative for our sports.”
