The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received 180 Nigerians who voluntarily returned from Libya.
The returnees arrived aboard an Air Libya flight, registration number 5A-BAE, which landed at the Cargo Terminal of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at about 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2025.

The return operation was coordinated by NEMA’s Lagos Operations Office in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), and Port Health Services.
A breakdown of the returnees indicates 147 adults — 45 males and 102 females — along with 19 children (6 males and 13 females) and 14 infants (7 males and 7 females).
According to NEMA officials, 46 of the returnees were identified with various medical conditions and were immediately attended to by health personnel at the airport.

Officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) also conducted biometric registration and documentation to facilitate proper profiling and reintegration support.
In line with the Federal Government’s policy on the safe and dignified return of Nigerian citizens, the returnees were provided with food, potable water, medical care, ambulance services, counselling, and logistics assistance.
The operation, NEMA said, underscores the government’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the welfare and dignity of Nigerians returning from crisis-affected regions abroad through coordinated humanitarian support and reintegration efforts.
